Building on i³ Group’s mission of supporting UK manufacturers’ through ‘intelligent industrial integration’, i³ Group announces the acquisition of manufacturing software and services specialist New Intelligence Group Ltd. The acquisition will bring additional digital transformation and software capabilities to the Group that helps manufacturers optimise performance.
“The New Intelligence team have been collaborating with us for several months, providing Business analysis support through AI and Digital Twins and simulations of factories and automated production lines across a number of key projects. Having the ability to replicate production lines in the virtual world and run simulations based on ‘what if?’ scenarios has given us deeper performance optimisation insights. The benefits of being able to simulate and try out multiple automation configurations, without having to make physical hardware or infrastructure changes is considerably faster and more cost effective for our customers.
The impact of this has been so profound that it was clear we needed this capability within the Group.”
Dr. Ewan Lloyd-Baker, Chairman of i3 Group Solutions.
The current challenges within the UK manufacturing sector are significant. Labour and skills shortages driven by the double whammy of Brexit and the pandemic, global supply chain constraints, Putin’s war in Ukraine, ESG directives and the drive for Net Zero, and now the downturn and uncertainty in the UK economy – the combination of which result in unprecedented times within the sector.
New Intelligence has been working with industrial engineering companies, utility companies and food manufacturers using AI and machine learning to combine disparate business data sets to help them reduce project risk and costs whilst increasing production performance. Overlaying this data with ESG performance tracking and employee sentiment analysis provides the holy trinity for monitoring business, operational and environmental performance within the business.
“The New Intelligence mission to ‘bring business data to life through people, technology and the environment together as one’ has never been so important as it is now within the manufacturing sector. We are delighted to be part of a larger Group and with a team that shares the same vision in the benefits for UK manufacturing our combined experience can bring.”
Dr. Martin Clocherty, CEO, New Intelligence.
The New Intelligence team have a strong track record as previous winners of The Manufacturer MX’s Smart Factory Award and Operational Research President’s Medal. They are cohort members of the Digital Catapult, the UK authority on advanced digital technology.
i3 Group will be showcasing their capabilities with New Intelligence on stand H12 at Smart Factory Expo, part of Digital Manufacturing Week in Liverpool on 16/17 November.
John Patsavellas, i3 Group’s Chief Commercial Officer will also be presenting The Manufacturer MX awards Top 100 at Digital Manufacturing week for the 9th consecutive year. The awards are delivered by The Manufacturer in partnership with the Institution of Mechanical Engineers and considered the gold standard in industry awards.
